Teas With reference to your letter of the 10th June last (5431/1912), relative to the case of Mr. H.B.H.Lethbridge, late Governor of Wormwood Scrubs Prison, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury to recuest you to inform the Secretary of State for the Colonies that They consider that Mr. Lethbridge is entitled under the Superannuation Acts 1892 and 1909 to a total pension of £272:12:0 per annum and an additional allowance of £825:1:5., calculated on his final emoluments as a Prison Governor (salary £700 and quarters valued at £52) and on his total actual service of 25 years increased to 29 years under the Superannuation (Unhealthy Climates) Act 1876 in respect of his service at Hongkong and in the Gold Coast.
My Lords agree that no portion of this award is payable from Cyprus funds in respect of Mr. Lethbridge's service in the Island, but They are of opinion that the pension should be apportioned among the remaining funds concerned in accordance with Numbers 5-7 of the Rules of 31st July 1911 framed under Section 7 (1) of the Super- annuation Act 1909, and having regard to your letter of the 7th instant (20205/4912), further respecting the case of Constable Webb, They assume that Mr. Harcourt will now feel able to accept this view and will request the
